SAFe Expert Programs

A SAFe® Expert is a knowledgeable, experienced and high-impact member of the SAFe Community. They’ve mastered the application of SAFe to help large enterprises achieve business agility and they contribute thought leadership to help evolve the Scaled Agile Framework.

SAFe Expert Programs

The SAFe Expert Programs supports SPCs, Co-trainers, SPCTs, iSPCTs, and SAFe Fellows in serving enterprises with exceptional and consistent quality, knowledge, and skill. The program also provides opportunities for continuous learning and sharing expert knowledge with the larger SAFe community. Specifically, SAFe Experts:

  • Contribute to the growing body of knowledge about SAFe
  • Give presentations about SAFe as conference speakers
  • Help SPCs develop and grow
  • Serve as SAFe subject-matter experts
  • Receive career-development guidance from Scaled Agile
  • Use SAFe resources to develop their expertise

There’s a growing demand for certified SAFe professionals, especially among Global 2000 enterprises. For a change agent, the SAFe Expert Program provides a skills-development path to further your career. As an enterprise decision-maker, you can be confident that the Expert Program offers professionals like you with proven SAFe skills, knowledge, and experience relevant to your industry.

“As is the case with any certification, you should carefully evaluate SAFe instructors and consultants, and make sure that they have demonstrated experience that is relevant to the role you are asking them to take on. Do not rely on certifications alone as a measure of the skills of a consultant or prospective employee.

A notable exception to this is the SAFe Program Consultant Trainer (SPCT) certification, which does require demonstrated experience with agile, software development or product management, training and consulting. If you’re hiring someone who has [an] SPCT certification, you can be confident that they do have experience in these areas, as well as experience with SAFe implementation at multiple organizations. However, SPCTs are in short supply. As of February 2020, there are fewer than 100 people worldwide holding this certification.”

— Gartner, “A Technical Professional’s Guide to Successful Adoption of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe),” Kevin Matheny, Bill Holz, 13 April 2020

SPCTs are differentiated in the marketplace. The SPCT certification is rare and the knowledge and expertise it represents is valuable and much in demand.
